Triple Crown Horse Betting
The Triple Crown is the most popular colts racing tour in America for horse betting fans. Triple Crown betting is exciting and consists in three races: Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes.
To be awarded as the Triple Crown winner, a horse must win three races in five weeks, at three different racing tracks, in three different states.
Winning the three of them is the biggest accomplishment for a thoroughbred race horse.
The first summer stop is the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs.
The Derby is celebrated on the first Saturday in May.
The Kentucky Derby is followed by the Preakness Stakes. Preakness Stakes is run on the third Saturday in May in Baltimore.
The Belmont Stakes is the final race of the Triple Crown, it takes place on the first Saturday in June in Elmont, NY. Only eleven horses have won the wonderful Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing entire tour.
The Triple Crown Champion title was given official status in 1987, when the three tracks created the Triple Crown Challenge, with a $5 million bonus to any horse that won the entire tour. If no horse won all three races, a $1 million bonus was awarded to the best overall record. This challenge was discontinued after 1993.
Triple Crown horse betting starts on May 3 to June 7, 2008 is one of the biggest horse betting racing events in the world.
